“Egyptian Tourism” participates in the Holiday World exhibition in Prague

The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority participated in the 34th session of the International Tourism Exhibition Holiday World, which was held in the Czech capital, Prague, and is considered one of the largest professional and public exhibitions in the Czech Republic and Central and Eastern Europe.

In conjunction with its participation in the exhibition, the Authority, in cooperation with tour and conference organizers in the Czech Republic, and the largest tour operators in the Eastern European markets, especially the Czech market, organized a tourist convoy for 300 tourist agents from representatives of major tourism companies in the Slovak and Czech markets, as well as 11 Egyptian hotels that the tour operator deals with in the Egyptian destination, as well as the largest Nile cruise companies in Egypt.

The Egyptian pavilion participating in the exhibition was opened by Ambassador Mahmoud Afifi, the Egyptian ambassador to Prague, in the presence of Rudolf Huliak, Slovak Minister of Tourism, Rasha Al-Diasti, advisor to the Egyptian Embassy, the ambassadors of the countries of Palestine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Turkey and Peru in Prague, and the Tourism Promotion Authority delegation, which includes Ahmed Salehin, Director of the Authority’s Eastern European Unit, and Dr. Dalia Twigg, member of the Central Administration of the Authority’s tourism offices.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Authority, explained that the Authority’s participation in this exhibition and in organizing the tourist convoy comes within the framework of the Authority’s keenness to participate in important international tourism forums and exhibitions and organize tourist convoys. It is considered an effective promotional tool that allows direct communication with professional partners such as tour operators and tourism agents, which contributes to informing them of the latest developments taking place in the tourism sector in Egypt, as well as identifying tourists’ interests and aspirations regarding the destinations they prefer to visit, in addition to discussing ways of cooperation to attract more incoming tourist traffic to the Egyptian tourist destination.

During participation in the exhibition, the Egyptian pavilion won the award for the best participating pavilion in the exhibition in terms of design that reflects the Egyptian identity with modern touches. The Authority’s delegation also held a number of professional meetings with the most important tour operators, tourism and aviation companies operating in the Czech market to discuss future cooperation mechanisms to develop promotional plans to increase the number of tourists coming from this market. They also reviewed the most prominent developments witnessed by the tourism sector in Egypt.
The Authority participated in the exhibition this year with a pavilion with an area of 64 square meters, which includes EgyptAir and Mayfair Jet Airlines. The Ministry of Youth and Sports also participated for the first time with a stand to promote sports tourism products.

In a related context, the activities of the convoy started from the Slovakian capital, Bratislava, and then continued its tour in the cities of Ostrava, Brno and Prague in the Czech Republic. These cities were chosen due to their tourism importance to the Egyptian destination, in addition to the availability of air traffic between them and a number of Egyptian tourist destinations.
The caravan aims to enhance the rates of tourist bookings from these two markets to Egypt during the current winter season and the next summer season, by highlighting the diversity and tourism richness of Egyptian tourist destinations, especially the cities of New Alamein and Marsa Matruh.

The Czech tour operator is scheduled to operate daily charter flights to the cities of Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and Marsa Alam, in addition to operating flights to the city of New El Alamein during the summer season. It also intends to increase the number of its flights to the North Coast region during the next summer season to reach 4 flights per week.

During the tour convoy, the various tourism products and styles of the Egyptian tourist destination were reviewed, as well as its various tourist destinations, especially the city of New Alamein.
