EgyptAir Expands U.S. Routes with Direct Flights to Los Angeles and Chicago
Air travel in Egypt has taken a significant step in connecting the Middle East to North America. EgyptAir has announced the launch of new routes from Cairo International Airport to Los Angeles and Chicago. This step is significantly taken for its global expansion, as these two major routes will allow US citizens to travel easily to the Middle East and Africa. EgyptAir has passed the statement on Friday, 3 April 2026.
Also, while stating the launch of new routes, they also announced that new flights to Los Angeles are scheduled for May 2026. From Cairo to Los Angeles, the flight will operate 3 times a week, likely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These new flights are introduced to cater to passengers’ demand for convenience and flexibility. This step by the airline not only promotes easy commuting between Africa and North America but also allows travelers to travel to the Middle East conveniently.
The flights from Cairo to Chicago are likely to operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, which commence in June 2026. EgyptAir has recently added the ultimate A350-900 aircraft, which will operate flights between Africa and America. It is also reflecting the carrier’s ambition to make space into the US market.
The chairman and chief executive officer of EgyptAir, Ahmed Adel, says that the motive behind the launching of direct flights is that it will strengthen the position and global network of EgyptAir. He also has said that it will make Cairo a vital hub in Africa for Americans to commute. It overall improves the travel and also connects the Middle East and Africa with the Americas.
Also, the officials of the airlines also stated that flights are marking a significant milestone, as they are making the first direct connection to the west coast of the United States and also making it easier for citizens to travel.
In the United States, Chicago and Los Angeles are among the fourth and fifth locations that will have direct flights from Egypt. Before this, only New York, Washington, and Newark are commonly served routes for air travel to Egypt.
