Pickalbatros Hotels wins international awards during its participation in the Berlin Tourism Exchange ITB 2026

The group’s resorts account for 40% of the number of German tourists arriving in Egypt… Hurghada and Marsa Alam are their first destinations

This year, the Berlin Tourism Exchange ITB 2026 witnessed a remarkable brilliance for the Pickalbatros Group of Hotels and Resorts, due to the distinguished relations with German tourism companies extending over more than 30 years, and its obtaining many international awards and certificates.

Kamel Abu Ali, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, stated that our primary goal in participating is to maintain incoming tourist flows from the German market to Egypt during the coming period, which is considered one of the most sought-after markets for the Red Sea, as German tourists are considered high spenders and repeat their visits to Egypt, especially Hurghada and Marsa Alam, more than once a year.

Mohamed Eid, Regional Director of Marketing at Pickalbatros Group, stressed that the group’s participation in a huge pavilion is the most distinguished this year in the Berlin Stock Exchange due to the importance of tourism investments in the economic development of the country, and the importance of the German market in particular, and that his participation is a message of reassurance to German tourists in light of the events in the Middle East, pointing to the visit of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathi to the group’s pavilion, who praised the distinguished and honorable participation of Egyptian tourist resorts.

Eid said that German tourists in Egypt are concentrated in Hurghada, Marsa Alam, then Sharm El-Sheikh, and according to statements by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathi, the Egyptian destination attracted about 1.5 German tourists during the year 2025, noting that Pickalbatros Resorts accounts for 40% of them, equivalent to about 600,000 German tourists, pointing to the group’s success in completing several distinguished contracts during its participation in the exhibition to increase the influx of Germans to Egypt.

Eid pointed out that the current circumstances that the region is going through have made the demand for the pavilions of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait weak, which in turn led to an intense demand for the Egyptian pavilion.

Mohamed Eid announced that the Pickalbatross group won 10 awards from the “HolidayCheck” website, which is the first and largest tourism platform in Germany, where a resort in Hurghada was chosen, 4 resorts in Marsa Alam, and 5 resorts in Sharm El-Sheikh, and Kamel Abu Ali, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, was also honored.

He added that the group also obtained 5 international certificates from the tour operator Coral Travel for 5 resorts, and the “White Beach Hurghada” resort in the third place was chosen among the top 10 resorts in the world.

Pickalbatross Group Marketing Director stressed that Egypt has a strong opportunity to seize tourism traffic from around the world and Arab countries, pointing to the tourism sector’s optimism regarding Egypt’s strong participation in the Berlin Stock Exchange this year.

It is worth noting that the Pickalbatros Hotels Group participated for the eighth year in a row in the Berlin Stock Exchange, and within the framework of stimulating and promoting the tourism movement in Hurghada from the German market, it opened the Albatros Makadi Resort last February in the presence of the Minister of Tourism Sherif Fathi and also opened the Italian School of Hospitality in Hurghada. In the same context, the largest group within the Kingdom of Morocco announced the opening of two hotels in Agadir and Marrakesh at the end of last year.
