EgyptAir Unveils Its First Sensory-Friendly Room for Disabled Travelers at Cairo International Airport

The airline EgyptAir has launched its first dedicated sensory cabin at the Cairo International Airport in Egypt for specially abled passengers to elevate their traveling experiences for them and their companions. This move by the airline depicts social welfare and promotes inclusive travel for everyone.

EgyptAir is the country’s flagship airliner, it said in a statement on Tuesday, 28 April, 2026. This move will make travel easy and comfortable for individuals dealing with invisible disabilities; overall, the sensory room, designed with advanced technology, will enhance the comfort and help travelers relax.

The initiative by the airline comes under their framework that understands the social responsibility efforts. Also, this small step contributes to achieving sustainability goals under Egypt’s vision 2030 of increasing tourism in the country.

It is a step that enhances the travel experiences for individuals dealing with disabilities like autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, and several psychological conditions, as well as for ones dealing with heightened sensitivity to sound or light. The aim of the airline is to provide them space that comforts them and reduces anxiety before boarding the plane for a relaxed flight.

The advanced sensory room offers a calm and safe environment that is particularly curated to reduce the overstimulation, which helps in easing the stress and anxiety level of the special-needs passengers, improving their overall experience for the air transfer.

At the airport on Terminal 3 opposite Gate 4, this facility was recently inaugurated at the Cairo International Airport in the departure hall.
