Why Luxor in Eclipse 2027?
To book this trip, which was carefully designed to allow you to enjoy the maximum time for the eclipse with relaxation and without crowding in places where people gather to watch the eclipse, here are the most important scientific and tourist facts that make Luxor the first global destination for this event:
- The longest eclipse of the century: Luxor will witness the longest period of total darkness in the twenty-first century, as the total eclipse will last for 6 minutes and 22 seconds, a number that will not be repeated at this length until the year 2114.
- The ideal center point: Luxor is geographically located in the heart of the path of the total eclipse, which means that the view will be at its peak clarity and completeness without the need to move to remote areas.
- Climatic guarantee: Luxor in August is characterized by an average sky clarity exceeding 82%, which guarantees a view free of clouds, which is the biggest obstacle facing astronomy tourism in Europe or Asia.
- Darkness in broad daylight: The total eclipse will occur at noon, which will create a dramatic experience in which temperatures suddenly drop, and stars appear in the middle of the sky during the day, with the possibility of seeing the sun’s corona (coronavirus) with the naked eye.
Eclipse event schedule (August 2, 2027 – Luxor time):
Luxor, the capital of history, is preparing to host one of the rarest and greatest astronomical events of the twenty-first century. Total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027. Watching this event from a luxury Nile Cruise is not just a tourist trip, but rather an integrated cosmic experience that develops minute by minute.
Here’s how our guests will experience this extraordinary day in every detail:
Start: Watch for shadows creeping in (11:40 a.m.)
- At 11:40 a.m. local time, the first chapter of the celestial show begins with the beginning of the partial eclipse. At these moments, the moon gradually begins to move to obscure the rising disk of the sun. Wearing the approved protective glasses that we provide to our guests, this slow and majestic crawl that precedes the biggest event can be observed amid an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement on deck.
Total darkness: darkness in broad daylight (1:05 p.m.)
- At one o’clock and five minutes in the afternoon, excitement reaches its peak with the onset of total darkness. In a dramatic, eye-catching scene, daylight suddenly withdraws, as if night had fallen in the middle of the afternoon. The colors of the sky change, and bright stars and planets appear in the sky, creating a rare astronomical painting that reflects the majesty of the universe above the eternal landmarks of Luxor.
Peak of the Legendary Event: (6 minutes and 22 seconds)
- These minutes are considered the most important and longest of the century, as the peak of the total eclipse lasts for a full 6 minutes and 22 seconds. During these magical moments, the sun’s disk disappears completely, leaving behind the “corona” or glowing solar corona that is visible to the naked eye. It’s not just the visual spectacle; Rather, it is accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperature, a change in wind movement, and stillness in nature, making it an integrated and unforgettable sensory and spiritual experience.
Return of Light: End of the astronomical show (2:26 p.m.)
- This cosmic phenomenon concludes its chapters at exactly two o’clock and twenty-six minutes in the afternoon. The moon begins to withdraw, and the sun gradually returns to its normal state, and the day resumes its usual light. The end of the event ends completely, but it leaves in the memory of the guests a deep impression and exceptional images of the trip of a lifetime that combined the fragrance of ancient Egyptian civilization and the miracle of the sky
